Letter from our Pastor
Dear Mercy Parishioners and Friends of
Our Lady of Mercy School,
Peace and all good things!
For over 26 years now our parish has
embraced a tradition of developing its school as an integral part of our
family-oriented faith community. Over
the many years our parish members have made significant sacrifices to provide a
Christ-centered education for those critically important years from pre-school
through the eighth grade. The school’s
mission statement clearly articulates our goal:
“to develop and honor each student spiritually, intellectually,
socially, creatively and physically.
Guided by Catholic beliefs, our diverse community invites each child to
live and serve in a changing society as a self-respecting and responsible
citizen.”
All of us are very grateful to Sr. Geri
Rogers, SSJ, our school principal for leading our and loving our school. Our faculty is dedicated and
professional. Because of our leadership
and teachers we have achieved the “National Blue Ribbon School for excellence
and continue to maintain this high quality of education. We are proud of our students who go on to any
college-preparatory high school.
The achievements of our school evokes
both a certain sense of pride in all that has been accomplished with God’s
grace and also a sense of hope for all that remains to be done. Due to a solid sense of collaboration, we
confidently face the on-going challenges in our commitment to continue
promoting academic excellence, faithful stewardship and responsible citizenship
in a nurturing, Catholic environment under guidance of Christ who is the real
teacher.
I strongly encourage all parishioners,
students, and their parents to become actively involved in all our parish and
school activities and ministries because it takes “a village to raise one
child” or many hands to make Mercy.
My prayers for you and your families, as
we face the future with hope and great expectation.
Your Brother in Christ,
Fr. Carl Zdancewicz, OFM Conv.
